So many business failing why take the risk on starting one?

In such a shaky and spiral down fall of the US economy it seems extremely risky to venture into any business especially when you see would be competitors going out of business. Unlike a year or two ago, you could drive down the street and once in a while you will see a store going out of business and you will step on your breaks pull over or catch the next U Turn to catch a bargain.
These days it’s a little more prevalent and you just drive past them like it’s the in thing or just an anther everyday occurrence. The real question is how do you start or venture into a business when would be competitors are closing doors and going out of business? Some of them are in business for ten or even thirty years, they know the tricks of the trade, they got long longevity but still they can’t sustain business to keep the door open.
Question to ask yourself is what will make your business any different? What strategy can you really execute that will make your business a profitable one and you not closing doors before it even open?
In an economy where the smartest and brightest are losing jobs left and right, going into business seems to be one of the more logical option and at the same time daunting one.
What’s your take on starting a business in this economy?
