What is a Hubpages?

For those who don’t know about Hubpages,  well  in a very short phrase, it is a blog within a blog.  Hubpages is  one of the  leading online publishing community destination with a business strategy similar to eBay’s, where they create a platform and have individual filled it with content.

I will explain it in a very simple organic way.  The people at Hubpages create a gigantic mega blog platform, then invite others to create mini blogs within the gigantic  mega blog.

Now, just as if you had your very own blog only without the maintenance of a blog and the cost to run and operate a blog. You can add content to your blog within the Hubpages, You can write article on any topic, post videos and pictures among other things, you can even have a friends/buddy list, you can follow other blogger similar to Twitter system and received updates whenever they update their Hubpages/blogs.

How do I make money with a Hubpages?

Well, you have a few ways you can make money with your Hubpages just as if you running your own blog. 

Within the Hubpages Platform, you have four affiliate program you can apply for or just add your affiliate ID if you already have an account.  And the good news is that the Hubpages will represent as your website, so the six month established requirement for Google AdSense will be wave I guess since Google and Hubpages is in partnership.  Hubpages is in a third Party agreement with Google. Meaning you can apply to Google AdSense through Hubpages,  so your Google Ads can be shown on your Hubpages content you add.

 Google Adsense: Within your Hubpages account, you can add your Google AdSense ID or you can apply for a Google AdSense Account from your Hubpages account. The Hubpages will represent your website.

EBay:   With the eBay affiliate program, like Google AdSense you can add your eBay ID or apply for one.  Same thing with Amazon and  Kontera.

Capstone Hubs: Capston Hubs is for those mega blogger, those individual who takes blogging to the next level by posting  100’s of post if not 1,000’s.  This is where the blogger mean business, at this level the people and Hubpages will pay you directly base on the level of traffic from your content you add. Now, while you reading this review; I know in the back of your head you asking yourself,  Then how the people at Hubpages get paid  or make money if your Ads will be showing on your content?.  Well, this is the strategy the people at Hubpages used to compensate you and them-self.  They have a 60/40 revenue sharing strategy.  Just like your local barber shop.

How it works is that, 60% of the time your advertising will be shown within your content on the Hubpages, then 40% of the time the people at Hubpages will show their ads.  What I don’t know is how and when your ads will be shown, and what sequent this is carried out on or with.   Maybe your ads will be shown 60% of the time in the morning, evening,  night or it is random.

Other ways you can used the Hubpages:

One other way you can used the Hubpages to your benefit is by creating back-link and gain traffic and popularity to your personal blog from your personal Hubpages.  

A strategy I invent to create back-link and traffic to my Hubpages is by inserting a RSS feed from my blog to all  of my posting, content and article I have on my Hubpages.

How I set this up is that after my followers and readers on Hubpages done reading  my latest post on the Hubpages Network, they will see five or eight of my latest post from my personal blog at the bottom of my post on my Hubpages, just before they reached the comment section.  See this link for an example:  You the last person on earth. 

Well, I’m not done yet…You have more ways to make money on Hubpages.  The people at Hubpages also have a referral program where you can gain some extra income from others you invite to join Hubpages.   Now, how this works is that  If you invites all the people you know to join the Hubpages network  you will gain a 10%  from the earnings they made on their Hubpages account.   The 10% will not be from your  pocket.  Remember that 60/40 revenue sharing strategy above?  Well, the 10% will be from the 40%.  So the people at Hubpages will gain 30% and the people you invite to join will still gain 60%.   Read more about this referral at   Hubpages  Referral.
